Last week, Eureka successfully delivered the Hugin Essential Generator Module to our client, reaching a key milestone in one of the largest projects the company has executed to date. The delivery represents the completion of an extensive engineering and manufacturing effort, and highlights Eureka’s capability to plan, design, and execute large and complex power generation packages for offshore applications.
The Essential Generator Module is a 250-ton unit developed for Hugin A, a platform in the Yggdrasil field in the North Sea. Designed and engineered by Eureka, the module provides essential power to critical offshore systems and has been built to meet strict requirements for reliability, safety, and maintainability in harsh offshore environments.
From the early concept phase through detailed engineering and final delivery, Eureka has been responsible for system design, generator integration, testing, project management, and quality control. Manufacturing and assembly were carried out in close cooperation with Leirvik AS at their facility in Stord, Norway. By working as one team, Eureka and Leirvik were able to maintain short decision paths, efficient workflows, and a shared focus on delivering a robust, high-quality solution.
The project has been characterized by a good working relationship between the two companies, good coordination, and a shared focus on quality and safety throughout the execution phase. This collaboration made it possible to solve complex challenges efficiently, and to make an on-time delivery of an efficient, high-quality module.
“Eureka is proud to deliver this project together with Leirvik AS. The combination of their excellent manufacturing skills, and Eureka’s expertise in generator design, have resulted in a great product.
The two Companies have worked together in a close integrated team, leading to efficient decision making, and thus a productive and lean project execution” says Eureka’s COO Tommy Stavrum.
“We are eager to continue the cooperation for future projects.”
