The 300 tons ESS Module; Hugin Essential Generator is approaching MC Completion
The Hugin Essential Generator is approaching MC Completion by end of May 2025. The project is Eureka’s largest to date, consisting of two main deliverables for the Hugin field in the North Sea; The Emergency- and Essential generators. The latter is a 300 tons ESS module, manufactured by Eureka’s trusted partner; Leirvik AS, located at Stord in Norway.
“Leirvik has more than 40 years of experience in delivering complex aluminum constructions for the offshore industry. We are excited to combine this competence with Eureka`s in-depth system knowledge to develop a state-of-the-art product, such as the Essential Generator Module. We believe that our complementary skills and that the efficient cooperation model from this project successfully can be applied also to other projects.“ states Leif Ståle Lidal, SVP Energy LQ & Large Modules at Leirvik.
The module is now being finalized and will be MC complete by end of May this year.
“Eureka is proud to deliver this project together with Leirvik AS. The combination of their excellent manufacturing skills, and Eureka’s expertise in generator design, have resulted in a great product. The two Companies have worked together in a close integrated team, leading to efficient decision making, and thus a productive and lean project execution” says Eureka’s COO Tommy Stavrum. “We are eager to continue the cooperation for future projects.”
The skid will be tested at Leirvik’s facility at Stord, by Eureka’s test team, before it is delivered to the end Client in September 2025, for installation at Hugin A.
